About Edward Kershaw, Attorney at Law
EARLY LIFE & EDUCATION

I graduated from the University of Houston in 1991 with honors. I spent many hours during the summer working on an oil platform in the Gulf of Mexico to pay for college. I then went on to the University of Tennessee's College of Law. I was on the Law Review and made the Dean's list multiple times. I won the award for Best Tax Theory Development Paper in law school in 1994. (This was a theory on how to improve our country's tax code.)
30 YEARS IN PRACTICE
I began practicing law in 1994 and, since then, I have handled thousands of cases of all sorts, though I prefer criminal law, family law, and contract cases. I have argued in front of the Tennessee Supreme Court and have won criminal trials at both the federal and state levels. I have also argued several cases in Cincinnati, Ohio in the Federal Court of Appeals. I am happy to say that even after 30 years in practice, I pray that my list of achievements continues to grow. In 2004 I won the award for helping the most indigent people in East Tennessee. You can see it on my wall. I am very proud of this award as I feel that I helped many people. I enjoy playing racquetball and golf. I watch as much football as I can at the high school, collegiate, and professional levels. Most of all, I love spending time with my children.
